Farm Sought 'Only Males' After Mass Firing, Wash. AG Says

By Abby Wargo (August 18, 2022, 4:02 PM EDT) — The Washington state attorney general hit a mushroom producer with a lawsuit in state court accusing the farm of firing most of its female, U.S.-based workforce and intentionally replacing them with male, foreign workers.

Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson filed the suit Wednesday in Yakima County Superior Court accusing Ostrom Mushroom Farms of violating the Washington Law Against Discrimination by punishing many of its female domestic workers when they spoke out against mistreatment and subsequently firing them.
